In 2010, we identified and then assisted our client in establishing its first residential real estate investment platform through a joint venture with one of Colombia’s top residential developers. Since then, the venture has co-invested in the development of more than 15,000 for sale units and in 15,000 additional units currently in planning. El Dorado Capital Advisors identified that the housing deficit, the low rates of home ownership, the rise of the middle class and increased household income, coupled with government subsidies, signaled a cycle of new investment opportunities with attractive returns. To date, two of these projects have been fully completed.
